FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JODY DAVIS
I. Love. My. Job. Every single day I wake up and I get so excited to be able to help women in recovery by providing safe, structured, sober housing. I love my job.
I love the women that we serve. They are amazing. Their stories, the details of how they got here never cease to amaze me and motivate me. I love their children. I am particularly fond of Alsanti and Victoria whose mom never ceases to amaze me. She never gives up in the face of adversity.
I love our houses, that have become homes. We take each building, we care for it, we plan and execute that plan with love and desire to bring the best for the least. We look for funding for capital repairs so that our homes are up to date and well cared for. We have an amazing painter, Abel from Majestic Painting that understands our desire for excellence. He paints our homes as if painting for God himself.
I love my staff. Everyone of them. Staff care and self care are at the top of our priority list. The danger of burn out is real - and I guard against that as best I can. We have regular staff lunches and recreational times. We love each other before we love the women.
I love you. Okay, I may not know exactly who you are - and over the years I may not have been the best at sending out thank you's or acknowledgements - I accept that, and I am committed to doing better. But I wanted you to know that I love you. Our funding comes from 4 distinct sources and I have no idea which category you might fall into: Resident, Foundation, State Contract, Individual Donor. No matter which group you fall under, (maybe none yet) - I love you. I am not blind to the fact that for the last 11 years hundreds of people, companies, foundations, etc have given to us because they believe in greater things for us - and they believe in my capacity to bring it about.
That fact humbles me more than I can say. It also inspires me to do more, and it inspires me to believe for more for our women. The confidence you have shown in me - I am able to pass to my staff and the women we serve.
It is an incredible privilege to serve women who struggle with addiction and abuse and who are trying to rebuild their lives.
Thank you so much for your support.
God Bless
